Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had landed several television roles, including the lead role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. Her fame was due to her performance in Der Tunnel. This paved for her to play other memorable performances, like Adolf Hitler's secretariat Traudl Junge. The other Oscar nominated film starring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in a variety of important international and national projects through the years. These include British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historic miniseries Napoleon as well as other miniseries. She was also part of the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
