Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was born and raised to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam her mother is an ex-backup singer from Philadelphia International Records. Her father proposed her to take on an appointment as curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She and her family then moved into the landmark. As a 2005 Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduated who is majoring in the field of vocal music. Sullivan performed as the contralto in the youth choir, and was later a part of the adult chorus. Sullivan was not exposed secular music until he was a teenager. "I was singing for the first time solo in churches, and one of my friends asked me to commit to gospel records when I was 11. But I wasn't prepared to do that," she says. "I was lucky enough to be chosen for the McDonald's contest, where students from big cities an opportunity to sing 'Accept whatever God wills'. The audience responded positively." Stevie Wonder sang her part on the day of the birthday celebrations of her grandson at thirteen. Sullivan was first signed to Jive Records at the age fifteen. Sullivan was initially signed by Jive Records in the year fifteen. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album but this album never saw release. Sullivan was then eliminated by the label. Missy Elliott was her producer for some tracks on her debut album. Of these "Backstabbers" of Timbaland, which Elliott created, was Sullivan's favorite track.
