Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in film and TV is best known for films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her showbiz career at a young age. Her roles included lead characters in dramas on television as young as 16 years old. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader is another Oscar nominated movie featuring this actress. Alexandra worked on several important international and national projects over the years. One of these is the British biographical film Control, the Greek film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon. She was also part of the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
