Alexandra Maria Lara has been a Romanian/German television and film actress for more than a decade. Alexandra is famous for her roles in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. She was the sole child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu, Alexandra began her career in show business in the early years of her life. By the time she reached the age of sixteen, she had secured leading roles in several television dramas. Following her highly acclaimed performance in the TV movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. Downfall received nominations for an Oscar and won critical and commercial great success. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra was involved in a variety of important international and national projects over the years. Some of these include the British biographical movie Control, the Greek film The Dust of Time, and the French historical mini-series Napoleon. She was also in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
