Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film most well-known for her roles in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the only children of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into showbiz early and landed up acting in lead roles on various television dramas by the time she turned 16. Following her highly acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge in Downfall. Downfall received nominations for an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial popularity. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this actress. Alexandra is associated with numerous important projects both locally as well as internationally. Some of these include the British biographical movie Control, the Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and French historical mini-series Napoleon. She has also been an adjudicator at the Transylvania International Film Festival as in the Cannes Film Festival.
