Srushti began preparing herself for her UPSC examination in her 3rd year as a student in engineering. As she was finishing her last year of engineering, Deshmukh was unsure if she could enjoy working in engineering. Her goal became apparent as she focused more on the civil work. Her parents encouraged her to concentrate on civil work and to find an opportunity to serve the people. She remained motivated and determined to become an IAS Officer. To achieve UPSC the candidate must do more. She prepared for UPSC subjects while she studied her engineering. The exam preparation took up all day long. She mastered the engineering tests in only one-and-a-half months. She stayed out of social situations. Her belief is that focus and concentration are essential to pass the test to become a government official. She was determined to pass the test on her first attempt and put in a lot of effort.
